8.2 Select sandpaper
The grain of the sandpaper is indicated on the back.
The smaller the number, the coarser the grain.
1. Use coarse grain sandpaper for rough sanding
and ne grain sandpaper for nishing. Sandpapers
with aluminium oxide, silicon carbide or other syn-
thetic abrasives are recommended.
2. Start with a coarse grain and nish with the nest
grain if you have sandpaper with dierent grains to
choose from to achieve a good, smooth sanding
result.
8.3 Attaching the sandpaper (Fig. 3, 4)
1. Set the product down on a level surface.
2. Secure the sand paper (9) to the grinding plate (8)
with the Velcro backing.
3. Align the sandpaper (9) with the grinding plate (8)
and press it on evenly.
4. Make sure that the holes of the sanding plate (8)
align with the holes of the sanding paper (9).
8.4 Connection for dust extraction
m WARNING!
When working on lead-based paint for example,
harmful/toxic gases may be produced. These pose
a danger both to the user and to persons in the vi-
cinity! Therefore, only use this electric tool with
a dust extraction device and additionally protect
yourself and other persons in the working area
with suitable personal protective equipment!
A large amount of dust is generated when working with
this product. The dust extraction is very useful to keep
your work area clean and reduce dust exposure on the
operator’s side.
8.5 Installing the suction hose (g. 5.1 - 5.3)
1. Push the connection adapter (16) onto the dust ex-
traction connector (7).
2. Insert the suction hose (10) into the connection
adapter (16).
3. Turn the suction hose (10) to the right to connect
the two elements together.
4. To dismantle, turn the suction hose (10) to the left,
pull out the suction hose (10) and remove the con-
nection adapter (16).
• Change your working position regularly.
• If the product is to be used or operated frequently,
you , should contact your specialist dealer and re-
quest anti-vibration accessories (handles) if appli-
cable.
7. Unpacking
• Open the packaging and carefully remove the prod-
uct.
• Remove the packaging material, as well as the pack-
aging and transport safety devices (if present).
• Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
• Check the product and accessory parts for transport
damage. In the event of complaints the carrier must
be informed immediately. Later claims will not be
recognised.
• If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the
warranty period.
• Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the
operating manual before using for the rst time.
• With accessories as well as wearing parts and re-
placement parts use only original parts. Spare parts
can be obtained from your specialist dealer.
• When ordering please provide our article number as
well as type and year of manufacture for the product.

The product and the packaging material are not
children‘s toys! Do not let children play with plas-
tic bags, lms or small parts! There is a danger of
choking or suocating!
8. Assembly and operation
m ATTENTION!
Always make sure the product is fully assembled
before commissioning!
m WARNING!
Always remove the mains plug before carrying out ad-
justments on the product.
8.1 Assemble additional handle (4)
1. Take the additional handle (4) and turn it clockwise
into the thread provided until it is rmly seated.
2. To remove, unscrew the additional handle (4) anti-
clockwise out of the thread.
