THE APPEARING ROPE

Wind the rope up into a small bundle and attach a long piece of black thread to it (Image 2). Slip the bundle of rope behind

the cuff of your jacket (Image 3) and fasten the other end of the black thread to your top button. Show your audience that

your hands are empty (Image 4). Position your thumb behind the thread in front of your stomach without your audience

noticing (Image 5). Now, when you bring your hands forward quickly, the rope will y directly out of the cuff and into your

hands (Image 6). To your audience, it will seem as though you have conjured a rope from nothing!

THE DISAPPEARING KNOT

Before performing this trick, tie a small piece of white thread around the center of the rope in such a way that you create

a loop. Hide the thread with your ngers (Image 3). Explain to your audience that you will now make a knot in the rope.

Lead one end of the rope once through the loop and back again (Images 4 and 5). It will now seem as though you have

tied a knot. If you pull on both sides of the rope, the thread, which is holding the loop in place, will rip and the knot will

disappear (Images 6 and 7). Make sure that your audience does not see the thread when you pick up the rope in order

to “tie” the knot.

ANOTHER DISAPPEARING KNOT

You will need a long rope measuring 20 to 30 inches in length, a short rope, scissors. If you do not want to cut the rope

included in your magic set, you can use any other rope. Beforehand, turn the long rope into a loop and tie the shorter

piece around the outermost end of the loop (Images 2 to 4). Start the trick by showing your audience the prepared rope.

It will look as though you have tied two pieces of rope together in the middle. If you pull forcefully on each end of the rope

(Image 5), the knot will “jump” off the rope.
