8-7. Changing les while
continuing to record (le
incrementation function)
Press the REC button on the unit while recording to start a le
with a new number.
NOTE
o The number at the end of the le name will increase when a
new le is created.
o If the name of the new le to be created would be the same
as that of an existing le, “---” will be added after the number.
(--- is a three-digit number, starting with “001”.)
Example: YYMMDD_0001[001]-1.wav
o A new le cannot be created if the total number of les and
folders would exceed 1000.

o The recording times shown above are estimates. They might
dier depending on the microSD card in use.
o The recording times shown above are not continuous recording
times, but rather they are the total possible recording times for
the microSD card.
o When stereo linking is o and recording only 1 channel, the
above recording times will be about twice as long.
NOTE
If the size of a le exceeds 4 GB during recording, a new le
will be created and recording will continue in that le (le
incrementation). See “File name overview” on page 43 for
information about le names.
