1. POSITION OF THE ATMOS LOUDSPEAKERS FHL/FHR (XATM)
The Spectrum II Atmos loudspeakers are placed on top of the floor or bookshelf loudspeakers.

DOLBY ATMOS

is a new technology meant to reproduce surround sound for cinema and home cine-
ma. This DOLBY ATMOS
®
process creates vertical sound channels in addition to the Dolby 5.1 or 7.1
format (horizontal plane) and thus offers a totally immersive audio experience.
In order to have access to this technology and experience the emotion of DOLBY ATMOS
®
, you have
to equip yourself, in addition to your 5.1 or 7.1 system, with dedicated loudspeakers in order to
emit sound vertically. There are loudspeakers that are positioned directly in the ceiling, but these
require a considerable amount of time and effort to install. There are also specific loudspeakers that
direct the sound to the ceiling from the floor. It is this second solution, certified DOLBY ATMOS
®
, that
Tangent has adopted, simplifying the installation process.
These loudspeakers, whose drivers are specifically filtered and angled, emit a sound field towards
the ceiling, which must be reflective. The waves are reflected on the ceiling, giving the listener
the benefit of this vertical dimension of sound. The result is ultra-realistic sound, for a totally im-
mersive experience at the heart of your film. To take full advantage of DOLBY ATMOS® sound, your
amplifier must be compatible with this technology, and have a sufficient number of channels and
the associated digital processing.
Caution : A Dolby Atmos compliant amplifier is essential to the proper use of the loudspeakers.

It is essential to connect the loudspeakers using the correct polarity. Make sure to connect the “ +
” terminal of the loudspeaker (Red) to the “ + ” output terminal of the amplifier. Then, make sure
to connect the “ - ” terminal of the loudspeaker (Black) to the “ - ” output terminal of the amplifier.
A wrong connection would cause a blurred stereo image and loss of bass. Use high quality loud-
speaker cable.
2. CONNECTIONS ON HOME-CINEMA AMPLIFIER AND HOME-CINEMA PREAMPLIFIER
ALL THE CONNECTIONS MUST BE MADE WITH THE EQUIPMENT TURNED OFF.
