SETTING UP SWANNSHIELD (BETA)
SwannShield by Swann is an AI-driven voice assistant that enhances your SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell (model:
SWIFI-4KBUDDY) functionality. It communicates with visitors to screen unexpected guests and manage deliveries using
customizable instructions, ensuring your home and packages remain secure. SwannShield activates only when the
doorbell is pressed, enabling efcient and secure interactions with anyone at your door.
1. Navigate to the SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell
settings screen via the Devices tab and ensure your
SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell is running the latest
rmware.
2. You can access SwannShield Settings directly from
either the SwannBuddy4K settings screen or the
app menu.
3. Congure SwannShield settings for your SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell:
Follow the steps below to set up the SwannShield voice assistant on your SwannBuddy4K Video Doorbell:
If a new rmware is
available, it will be
displayed here. Perform
the rmware update
directly by tapping the
Update button.
Tap to view a brief introduction to the SwannShield feature.
Toggle the switch to enable or disable SwannShield in Night Mode as needed.
Toggle the switch to enable or disable SwannShield in Away Mode as needed.
Tap to congure SwannShield’s interaction style with visitors.
• Polite: Friendly and courteous.
• Aggressive: Assertive and direct.
• Disinterested: Detached and indifferent.
Tap to view SwannShield’s voice history. Transcripts are stored for 2 days in
the cloud before being deleted.
Tap to enter your address details. This helps SwannShield handle package
deliveries and respond to visitors appropriately.
Tap to provide specic instructions (up to 80 characters) for deliveries, such
as ‘Leave package on the bench next to the door.’
Tap to edit the resident's details.
Tap the name eld to edit the resident's name. Tap the 'Bin' button to delete
the resident. Tap the 'Tick' button to save the resident's name.
Tap to add a new resident. You can add up to 5 names of people living at your
address. SwannShield can adapt its responses based on the names provided.
For example, if someone says, ‘I have a package for Adam,’ and there isn’t a
resident named Adam, SwannShield might respond with something like, ‘I’m
sorry, you might have the wrong house. Perhaps try the house on the left.’
• Can SwannShield be enabled in Home mode?
No, SwannShield can’t be enabled in Home mode. It’s designed to step in when you’re not available to answer the door.
• I’m able to answer the doorbell. How do I interrupt SwannShield?
Simply open the doorbell notication from the app to take over the conversation.
