Installation and Setup

This chapter provides instructions on installing and replacing main system components.

To prevent compatibility issues, only use components that match the specications or part

numbers.

Up to ve or ten blade modules may be installed into a blade enclosure, depending upon

your enclosure and blade. Blade modules with Windows and Linux operating systems may

be mixed together in the same blade enclosure.

This manual assumes the enclosure is already installed in a suitable location. It should be

situated in a clean, dust-free area that is well ventilated. Avoid areas where heat, electrical

noise and electromagnetic elds are generated.

Inspect the box the system in which was shipped and note if it was damaged. If any equipment

appears damaged, le a damage claim with the carrier who delivered it.
