The

sets

air

flow

rate

each

fan

commissioning.

Constant

flow

rate

control

ensures

that

the

air

flow

rates

through

the

supply

air

and

extract

air

fans

are

achieved

irrespective

of

the

duct

pressure.

4.3.1

Frost protection

The

appliance

has

a

frost

protection

controller,

which

ensures

that

it

works

to

optimum

effect

even

at

low

outside

temperat¬

ures.

If

the

outdoor

air

temperature

falls

below

the

selected

frost

protection

value,

the

integral

electric

preheating

coil

is

switched

on.

This

prevents

the

cross-countercurrent

heat

ex¬

changer

from

freezing

up.

The

integral

electric

preheating

coil

is

referred

to

in

these

instructions

simply

as the

"preheating

coil".

When

the

preheating

coil

is

active,

the

"Frost

protection”

symbol

appears

on

the

display.

Once

the

output

limit

of

the

preheating

coil

is

reached,

the

ap¬

pliance

reduces

the

air

flow

rate.

This

means

that

at

low

outside

temperatures

and

high

flow

rates,

the

appliance

may

reduce

the

air

flow

rate.

The

frost

protection

function

protects

the

appliance

from

frost,

not

the

building.

4.3.2

Bypass

mode

The

appliance

has

an

integral

bypass

damper.

The

bypass

damper

enables

filtered

fresh

air to

be

supplied

without

passing

through

the

cross-countercurrent

heat

exchanger.

Utilising

cool

outdoor

air

Cool,

fresh

air

is

required

on

summer

nights

in

particular.

In

such

cases,

in

automatic

mode,

as

much

of

the

warm

air

in

the

home

as possible

is

displaced

by

cooler

fresh

air.

This

function

is

also

referred

to

as

passive

cooling.

Utilising

warm

outdoor

air

In

spring

and

autumn,

the

appliance

can

increase

the

room

temperature

by

opening

the

bypass

damper

in

automatic

mode

and

drawing

warmer

outdoor

air

into

the

building.

the

or

ice

formation

on

adjacent

footpaths

and

driveways.
