7.8 Energy management
7.8.1 Energy management with SG Ready
The energy management functions are only available in DHW
mode and in automatic/programmed mode. Energy manage-
ment does not have any effect on a system's cooling mode.
In SERVICEWELT under "SETTINGS / ENERGY MANAGEMENT",
you can activate and deactivate the SGReady function and select
the higher heating and DHW temperature values for forced
mode.
The SG Ready function distinguishes between three different
heating and DHW temperature levels:
DAY (Comfort)
NIGHT (Eco)
UPPER SET ROOM AND DHW TEMPERATURES
Which values are implemented at which time of day is depend-
ent on the following factors:
Set temperature levels for the DAY and NIGHT times
Configuration of the day programs
Enable times by the inverter contact
u In order to utilise as much self-generated power as possible
during times of PV output, set the temperature levels for
DAY and NIGHT as well as the day programs for DHW and
heating so that the minimum demand is covered.
Setting options for heating buffer
Option Suitable for heating systems ...
NO BUFFER without buffer cylinder
BUFFER WITHOUT MIXER with buffer cylinder and without
mixer
BUFFER WITH MIXER with buffer cylinder and downstream
mixer
Higher temperatures are made pos-
sible in the buffer cylinder.
Recommended settings
Set the temperature level for DAY to suit your own personal
comfort preferences. Configure your day programs so that
this comfort value is enabled only at the relevant times of
use.
Adjust the temperature level for NIGHT to an acceptable
minimum value. As defined by the day programs, outside
the usage times the system only heats up to this low level.
In SERVICEWELT under "SETTINGS/ ENERGY MANAGE-
MENT", select the DHW and room temperature values that
are suitable for you and that the system can provide. Do not
increase the room temperature by more than 2K to prevent
excessively high heating temperatures that may reduce
comfort levels. Take into account how the electric auxiliary
heater works (see the operating and installation instruc-
tions of the heat pump or controller).
Example
The specified values may differ depending on the type of heat
pump connected.
Operating state 1 2 3 4
Input 2 1 0 0 1
Input 1 0 0 1 1
Room temp. day HC 1 10°C 23°C 25°C 30°C
Room temp. night HC 1 10°C 13°C 25°C 30°C
Upper room temp. HC 1 25°C
Room temp. day HC 2 10°C 22°C 24°C 30°C
Room temp. night HC 2 10°C 12°C 24°C 30°C
Upper room temp. HC 2 24°C
DHW set day 10°C 55°C 52°C 60°C
DHW set night 10°C 45°C 52°C 60°C
Upper set DHW temp. 52°C
7.8.2 Forced mode
In forced mode (input1 switching), use your DHW cylinder and
your heating system to store surplus PV power in the form of
thermal energy.
If the contact output of an installed solar inverter is connected to
input1, your heat pump heats to the higher heating and DHW
temperature values at the PV output times defined by the in-
verter.
Set these values in SERVICEWELT under "SETTINGS"/ "ENERGY
MANAGEMENT". In forced mode, the WPM implements these
values. In other operating states, the values have no effect.
7.8.3 Power consumption control
The heat pump output can be influenced via the two digital in-
puts of the WPM or via the interface of the building manage-
ment system (BMS) using external Modbus IP or KNX.
NOTICE:This control satisfies the requirements of Section 14a of
the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG).
7.8.4 Energy management with EM Trend
EM Trend is an optional software extension for the Internet Ser-
vice Gateway (ISG). It uses forecast-based energy management
to automatically increase the self-consumption of self-generated
PV electricity with compatible heat pumps. EM Trend uses the
EM Meter electricity meter to measure the electrical PV feed-in
and grid reference power at the grid connection point.
EM Trend is activated by customer service after purchase. After
activation, you can configure EM Trend. Further information can
be found in the EM Trend operating and installation instruc-
tions.
