For integral ventilation units, control response is improved
when using room based remote controls.
u Install a maximum of one room based remote control per
heating circuit.
7 Information about energy manage-
ment operation with EMTrend
EMTrend realises an automatic control system for energy man-
agement for the connected heat pump. Which is why other con-
trol effects on the heat pump are disruptive. The following con-
trol systems are therefore not feasible or practical when using
EMTrend:
– The SG Ready interface cannot be used with EMTrend.
– Integration of the heat pump into building management
systems via KNX is not possible.
– Operation of a solar thermal system with heat input into the
buffer cylinder may impair the functioning of EMTrend. In
this case, reliable demand forecasts are not possible.
– The heat pump can be integrated into building manage-
ment systems via Modbus TCP/IP in parallel with EMTrend.
u Use the Modbus TCP/IP interface as read only. Writing val-
ues may disrupt the functioning of EMTrend.
– EMTrend does not support EASYTRON individual room con-
trol.
– The "MyStiebel" app cannot be used with the software ex-
tension.
– Heat pump cascades are not supported.
– EMTrend is not compatible with hybrid modules.
– If the temperature falls below the dual mode value, or in
"Silent mode1" and "Fixed value operation", control with
EMTrend is not available.
– While the heat pump is in "Defrost" mode, "Heat-up pro-
gram" or "Silent mode 2", control with the EMTrend soft-
ware extension is not possible.
– The temperatures in heating circuits 4 and 5 and for the
swimming pool cannot be increased.
Energy management with EM Trend uses surplus power from
the solar PV system to operate the heat pump. It is not always
possible for the heat pump to utilise the precise amount of elec-
trical power available when there is a PV surplus.
This is because:
– The heat pump operation schedule in energy management
is planned at fixed intervals. If the local consumption situ-
ation or PV generation situation changes at short notice,
surplus photovoltaic power may remain unused or mains
power may be temporarily consumed. Such a situation oc-
curs when the surplus photovoltaic power is utilised else-
where at short notice, for example when there is unfore-
seen high demand for heating or DHW or when a large con-
sumer is in operation. Weather-related fluctuations can also
lead to too much or too little surplus photovoltaic power at
times.
– Due to the physical characteristics of the heating process,
the electrical output for heat pump operation cannot be ad-
justed without delays. Therefore, the heat pump output is
changed at a moderate speed, for example to avoid in-
creased noise generation.
– Depending on how the heat pump is operated, a preferred
set temperature may require an electrical output that does
not match the photovoltaic yield. To avoid unnecessary
mains consumption, heat pump operation when there is a
PV surplus is prevented or cancelled.
– System-related control interventions by the heat pump oc-
casionally require power consumption that deviates from
energy management.
8 Troubleshooting (users)
u Observe the troubleshooting information in the operating
and installation instructions for the connected system com-
ponents.
u If the "Energy management" information field displays an
error, check the network connection between the ISG Inter-
net Service Gateway, router and EMMeter (or SOLARWATT
Manager flex).
u If you cannot remedy the fault, contact your qualified con-
tractor.
u If you experience problems with the IT network structure on
site, contact a qualified IT contractor.
