Overview
SZC-4001/4001M/4001W 4K Upgrade Software is
optional software that provides support for additional
shooting formats for the Sony HDC4300 Color Camera
and the HDC-P43 Multi Purpose Camera.
Signal processing and output of images is performed by a
connected BPU4000/4500 Baseband Processor Unit or
HDCU4300 Camera Control Unit.
SZC-4001/4001M/4001W software adds support for
shooting and transmission in 4K/23.98P, 24P, 25P, 29.97P,
50P, 59.94P, 50P(×2)*, and 59.94P(×2)*.
* Selectable when SZC-4002/4002M/4002W HFR Software is installed in
the BPU4000/45000.
The SZC-4001M can be used for 30 days.
The SZC-4001W can be used for 7 days.
• Counting of the period of use starts from the day after the
software is installed. You can check the remaining usage
period on the <OPTION KEY> page.
• Check that the date of the HDC4300 or HDC-P43 is set
correctly before installing SZC-4001M/4001W. If the
date is set incorrectly, installation may not be possible.
Installation

Prepare a key file.
There are two types of key files: .key file and
RQ_LIC.DAT file. The preparation varies depending
on the type of key file you have.
If installing from RQ_LIC.DAT
Do not change the contents of the RQ_LIC.DAT file.
The “RQ_LIC.DAT” file name is the same for each
device (HDC4300/HDC-P43).
Copy the file to the top level of a USB flash drive, and
do not move it. The installation will fail if the file is
moved.
If installing from a .key file
Create a text file that includes the software installation
key, and change the filename to “hdc4300.key” for the
HDC4300 or “hdcp43.key” for the HDC-P43.
Make sure that “.key” is the file name extension.
Key file format
• You can include multiple installation keys in a single
key file (hdc4300.key or hdcp43.key). Invalid keys
are ignored in the installation process.
• Define only one installation key on a single line.
• Any description between “#” or “;” and the line
break is read as a comment.

All the keys are installed by describing multiple keys
for which the period of use is limited, and the period of
use for the software is set according to the number of
installed keys.
Copy the created file to the specified folder on the USB
flash memory.
On the HDC4300, create a
\MSSONY\PRO\CAMERA\HDC4300 folder on a
