Installation and Setup
• When installing, keep adjacent speaker units 1 mm apart.
• When installing speaker units, any loose screws may generate noise.
Tighten all screws securely so that they are not loose.
• Restart the Player PC when switching between a single player system
and a multi player system.
In Sonic Surf VR, up to three control units can be connected
to each Player PC, and up to eight speaker units can be
connected to each control unit.
Each speaker unit can output eight channels of audio,
enabling output of up to 192 channels from a single Player PC
(single player system).
To output 193 or more channels simultaneously, output of up
to 576 channels is supported using one Main Player PC and
up to three Sub Player PCs (multi player system).
About channel numbers
Channel numbers are determined automatically based on
fixed rules.
Relationship between control unit and speaker
Speaker numbers and channel numbers are assigned starting
from the speaker unit connected to the lowest number
connector from among the SPEAKERS 1 to 8 connectors of
the control unit.
Example:
Speaker unit connected to the SPEAKERS 1 connector of the
control unit: Speaker 1 (channels 1 to 8)
Relationship between Player PC and control unit
In a system with multiple control units connected to a Player
PC, channels are assigned starting from the control unit
connected to the lowest number connector from among the
MADI output connectors of the Player PC.
Control unit connected to MADI output 1:
Channels 1 to 64
Control unit connected to MADI output 2:
Channels 65 to 128
Control unit connected to MADI output 3:
Channels 129 to 192
Configuring a Control Unit
You can configure various settings on a control unit using the
eight DIP switches accessed by removing the front panel.
1: Use to switch to setup mode, assign an arbitrary IP address
to control units, and set the IP addresses of connected
Player PCs.
2: Reserved for future use.
3: Use to select a MADI signal to output. Disabled when DIP
switch 4 is in the ON position.
4: Use to automatically select a MADI signal to output.
5 to 8: Use to set the IP address of the control unit.
• Set DIP switches with the control unit turned off.
• DIP switch 2 is reserved for future use. Leave it turned off.
DIP switch 3: Selecting a MADI signal to output
Select whether to use the MADI 1 IN connector signal or MADI
2 IN connector signal for MADI signal output using DIP switch
3.
The default setting is off (using MADI 2 IN connector).
Set to on if using the MADI 1 IN connector connection with the
Player PC.
DIP switch 4: To automatically select the MADI
signal to output
Set DIP switch 4 to ON to automatically selected the MADI
signal to output. In this setting, the setting of DIP switch 3 is
disabled.
The default setting is OFF (DIP switch 3 setting is enabled).
DIP switches 5 to 8: Setting the IP address of
the control unit
Use DIP switches 5 to 8 to set the IP address of the control
unit.
The combination of DIP switches 5 to 8 that are on (1) and off
(0) support 16 IP addresses. Set unique IP addresses for each
control unit.
By default, all DIP switches are off.
For example, 192.168.0.123 is configured when the DIP
switches are set as shown in the following diagram.
