6.4 Setting the thermostat
1. Switch on the device with the on/off
switch5.
2. If necessary, turn the thermostat control
2
as far as it will go towards the symbol .
3. Turn the heat selector
3
to the desired
heat output level (
or
).
4. Now turn the thermostat control2 to
MAX. The device starts heating.
5. Wait until a pleasant room temperature
has been reached.
6. Now turn the thermostat control2 slow-
ly towards MIN until you hear a click.
7. Leave the thermostat control2 in this po-
sition. The device now switches on and
off automatically in order to maintain
the set room temperature.
NOTE: if the ambient temperature changes
significantly, e.g. because a door has been
left open for an extended period, the setting
of the thermostat needs to be reset.
8. To switch off the device, set the heat se-
lector3 to 0. Switch off the device with
the on/off switch5.
9. If not in use for an extended period, pull
the mains plug8 out of the wall socket.
6.5 Frost monitor
The device has a frost monitor function. If
this function is activated, the device switches
on automatically, as soon as the ambient
temperature falls down to 7 °C. The device
remains switched on until an ambient tem-
perature of 15 °C has been reached.
1. Switch on the device with the on/off
switch5.
2. Turn the thermostat control2 to the
symbol .
3. Turn the heat selector3 to the heat out-
put level . The frost monitor function is
now switched on.
Turn the heat selector3 to position 0 to
switch off the function.
NOTE: high electricity costs when in
continuous operation!
Please note that a lot of electricity is
consumed during continuous opera-
tion (24 hours) due to the high out-
put of 1,500 watt. At a price of
35cents per kilowatt hour, this
would mean costs of about €12.60 a
day or about €378 a month.
6.6 Safety switch
Figure C: a safety switch15 protects the
device against damage caused from falling
over. The safety switch15 is positioned on
the underside of the device and switches it
off immediately in the event of it falling over.
Place the device back into upright posi-
tion.
6.7 Overheating protection
This device possesses overheating protec-
tion for your safety. If the temperature inside
your device gets too high, it automatically
switches off.
1. Turn the heat selector3 to 0. Switch off
the device with the on/off switch5.
2. Let the device cool down completely.
3. Check whether the air inlet4 or air out-
let10 are obstructed and eliminate the
cause.
4. You can then switch the device on
again.
NOTE: if the cause cannot be found and the
fault occurs repeatedly, contact the service
centre.
