Thermal safety cut-out
The pre-set thermal safety cut-out protects the heating
element from overheating should the appliance be
erroneously switched on without any water, or if the heating
plate is calcied. If the safety cut-out has been activated,
the appliance cannot be switched on again. In such a case,
the appliance must be allowed to cool down, or must be
descaled, before it is switched on again.
Automatic switch-off
∙ The kettle will turn off automatically about 15 minutes
(30 minutes in keep-warm mode) from the last use. Only
the temperature display lights up.
∙ Press any button to switch on the appliance.
Before using for the rst time
∙ Unbox the appliance and remove all wrapping material
and advertising stickers from the appliance. Never
remove the identication label.
∙ To clean the kettle, boil a full kettle of water twice (with
the tea lter in place) and discard the water.
Operation
‘Be-Silent’ function
∙ You can mute the button tones. To do this, keep the
Program button pressed until OFF is displayed.
∙ With the “Be-Silent” function activated, you will hear
no beeps after brewing!
∙ To deactivate the silent mode, press the button for 10
seconds (ON will be displayed) or pull out the mains
plug.
