 For Proper Operation
Before using this product, please read this "Safety Precautions" for 
proper operation.
WARNING
The WARNING symbol indicates the 
possibility of death or serious injury if the 
product is not used properly.
CAUTION
The CAUTION symbol indicates the 
possibility of minor to moderate personal 
injury or product damage if the product is 
not used properly.
NOTICE
The NOTICE symbol indicates cautions 
or restrictions when using the product. 
Please read all notes to avoid errors in 
operation.
 General Safety Information
• Read the Operating Manual before use.
• Keep the Operating Manual on hand for reference at any 
time.
• Stop using this product when there are any abnormalities.
• The modication or disassembly of this product is prohibited.
• Do not attempt to repair this product by yourself.
• This product is intended only for persons with expert 
knowledge.
• Monitor children so that they do not touch this product.
• Use this product in a usage environment described in the 
Operating Manual.
• This product is not waterproof.
 WARNING
There is a danger of electrical shock when using high 
voltage strobes.
Avoid contacting the terminals.
This product emits electromagnetic waves.  
Do not bring this product close to persons with 
pacemakers.
Do not use this product in an explosive atmosphere.
Use of devices emitting electromagnetic waves is 
prohibited in hospitals.
 CAUTION
• Check the material of the neck strap to see if there is any 
risk of allergy.
• Be careful of sudden emission of lights from strobes.
NOTICE
• Do not leave this product on car dashboards in hot weather. 
This may damage the product.
• Remove the batteries when this product is not in use for a 
long period of time.
• When the desired performance is not achieved, stop using 
this product and contact the service center.
 Information for Users on Collection and 
Disposal of Old Equipment
  To protect environment, do not through this device 
and batteries away with the normal household waste 
at the end of those life, but bring them in at an 
ofcial collection point of your country for recycling.

The steps for installing the transmitter module and meter setup are common 
for RT-20PW/RT-3PW (PocketWizard
®
), RT-BR (broncolor
®
), RT-EL/PX 
(Elinchrom
®
, Phottix
®
) and RT-GX (Godox
®
) transmitters. 
Before installing the transmitter, please read the operating manuals for 
the meter and transmitter as well as the safety precautions so that you will 
fully understand the features and operation of this product. Then keep the 
manuals and this Startup Guide in a safe place for future use. 
Displays in this start up guide is for explanation purpose. Content to be 
displayed diers depending on which transmitter is installed.
1.  Downloading Manuals
Please visit www.sekonic.com to download the latest 
version of meter and transmitter operating manual.

2.  Installing the Transmitter
1)  Turn OFF the meter.
2)  Unlatch and remove the Battery 
cover.
3)  Remove the Transmitter connector 
cover. 
4)  Align the connector pins with those 
of the transmitter module and insert the Transmitter. 
* Be sure to reattach the connector cover if the Transmitter is removed. 
5)  Insert the Battery cover tabs (three) into the receiving holes in the 
meter body, press the cover down and latch it closed.

Setting Radio System Preference 
(for RT-20PW, RT-3PW and RT-EL/PX only)
Use the Custom Setting in Menu to set the 
Radio System Preference for the ash system 
in use. 
RT-20PW/RT-3PW: ControlTL, Standard or 
both
RT-EL/PX: Elinchrom Normal/Speed mode or 
Phottix Strato

Selecting Measuring Mode 
Touch the icon to enter the Measuring Mode 
Selection screen.

 Radio Triggering Flash Mode
Detects ash brightness after Measuring button is 
pressed to send radio transmitted signal to radio 
receiver connected to ash. Displays F-stop value.

 Radio Triggering Multi Flash Mode
Detects and accumulates ash brightness after 
Measuring button is pressed to send radio 
transmitted signal to radio receiver connected to 
ash. Displays F-stop value.

HSS Flash Radio Triggering Mode (for RT-GX only)
Detects ash brightness after Measuring Button is 
pressed to send radio transmitted signal to radio 
receiver connected to ash. Displays F-stop value.

Flash Duration Analysis Radio Triggering Mode
Detects ash brightness after Measuring button is 
pressed to send radio transmitted signal to radio 
receiver connected to ash. Displays F-stop value 
and ash duration time.

Setting Channel (Studio) and Zone/Group (Lamp)
Use Tool Box screen to set the meter (transmitter) 
to the same channel (studio) and zone(s) / group(s) 
(lamp) as the receivers.
In addition, set the wireless ID when using RT-GX
.
