• Never store the product with fuel in the tank inside
a building in which fuel vapours may come into
contact with naked ames or sparks.
• Allow the engine to cool down before parking the
product in enclosed spaces.
• In the event of prolonged storage, empty the fuel
tank with a fuel extraction pump (not included in the
scope of delivery).
• In order to avoid re hazards, keep the engine,
exhaust pipe and the area around the fuel tank free
of grass, leaves and leaking grease (oil).
17.1 Preparing the product for storage
m WARNING
Do not remove the fuel in enclosed spaces, near
re or when smoking. Petrol fumes can cause ex-
plosions and re.
1. Clean and maintain the product before storage.
2. Empty the fuel tank using a petrol extraction
pump. (see 15.5)
3. Carry out an oil change (see 15.4)
4. Remove the spark plug (6) from the cylinder head.
5. Pull the pull starter (21) slowly so that the oil
protects the inside of the cylinder.
6. Screw the spark plug (6) back in.
7. Clean the cooling ns of the cylinder and the
housing.
8. Be sure to clean the entire product to protect the
paint.
9. Store the product in a well-ventilated place or area.
18. Repair & ordering spare parts
After repairs or maintenance, make sure that all safe-
ty-related parts are installed and are in perfect con-
dition. All parts which may cause injury must be kept
where they are inaccessible to children or others.
ATTENTION
According to the German Product Liability Act, no
liability is accepted for damage caused by improper
repairs or by not using original spare parts.
Such work should be performed by a customer ser-
vice centre or an authorised specialist. The same
applies to accessories

A running cutting thread (11) produces clearly audible
wind noises. The running of the cutting thread (11) is
signalled by the wind noise generated and can thus
be checked.
The cable pulls must be oiled more often and checked
for ease of movement (Fig. 12).
NOTE
If you notice that the motor brake is not working cor-
rectly, please contact customer service or a special-
ist workshop.
Ensure that the product is in perfect condition
throughout its service life. Improper maintenance
may lead to life-threatening injuries.
16. Transport
m WARNING
Risk of injury and burn!
The product can start unexpectedly and cause in-
juries.
- Switch o the motor before carrying out any
cleaning or maintenance work.
- Allow the motor to cool down.
- Disconnect the spark plug connector from the
spark plug.
1. Empty the fuel tank using a petrol extraction
pump (not included in the scope of delivery) into
a collection container.
2. Drain the motor oil of the warm motor.
3. Clean the cooling ns of the cylinder and the
housing.
4. Fold in the upper push bar (4).
5. Wrap a few layers of corrugated cardboard be-
tween the upper push bar (4), the lower push bar
(4a) and the motor to prevent chang (Fig. 20).
6. The product must be secured against tipping and
slipping during transport in vehicles in order to
prevent damage and injuries.
17. Storage
ATTENTION
Clean and maintain the product before storage.
Store the product and its accessories in a dark, dry
and frost-free place that is inaccessible to children.
The optimum storage temperature lies between 5 and
30 ˚C.
Store the product in its original packaging. Cover the
product to protect it from dust or moisture. Store the
operating manual with the product.
