ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 40°C and does not fall below 4°C during work.
9.1 Checking the battery charge status
(Fig. 1)
The battery charge level (6) indicates the charge level of
the battery (19).
The charge level of the battery (19) is indicated by the
corresponding LED light lighting up.
1. Actuate the on/off switch (3).
LED on the battery Charging status
red-orange-green Battery full
red-orange Battery partially charged
red Battery empty
9.2 Depleted batteries
• A significantly shortened operating time despite
charging indicates that the battery has been used up
and needs to be replaced. Only use original replace-
ment batteries.
• In any case, observe the applicable safety instructions
as well as regulations and instructions on environmen-
tal protection (see “Disposal and recycling”).
9.3 Charging the battery (19) (Fig. 1)
WARNING
Observe the following information to reduce
hazards:
– Never leave batteries to charge unsupervised!
– Remove rechargeable batteries from the charger af-
ter charging.
– Do not over-charge batteries! Observe the maxi-
mum charging times. These charging times only ap-
ply to discharged batteries. Inserting a charged or
partially charged battery multiple times leads to
overloading and cell damage. Do not leave batteries
in the battery charger for multiple days.
– Never use or charge batteries if you suspect that
they were last charged more than 12 months ago.
The probability is high that the battery is already
dangerously damaged (deep discharge).
Charge the battery (19) at an ambient temperature of 4 °C
to 45°C.
1. Push the battery (19) into the battery charger mount
(28) as far as it will go.
2. Plug the mains plug into the socket. As soon as the
charging process starts, the LED (26) lights up red.
3. LED (26) lights up green when charging is complete.
The battery (19) is ready for use.
ATTENTION
– If the LED lights up green although the battery is
discharged, the battery is either overheated or de-
fective.
4. Pull the battery (19) out of the battery charger mount
(28).
5. Wait at least 15 min until a new charging process.
Therefore, pull the mains plug out of the outlet.
9.4 Function of the protective cover
(15) (Fig. 1)
1. Pull the retracting lever (16) of the protective cover
(15) as far as it will go.
Note:
The protective cover must not jam and must automatically
spring back to its original position when the retracting le-
ver is released.
Note:
If the function is faulty, do not operate the product and
contact our Service Centre.
9.5 Overload switch-off
In the event of overloading, the motor will switch itself off.
After a cool-down period (time varies) the motor can be
switched back on again.
9.6 Setting the cutting depth (Fig. 6)
Note:
For a clean cut, select a cutting depth that is approx. 3
mm greater than the material thickness.
1. Loosen the wing screw (17).
2. Set the desired cutting depth on the cutting depth
scale (5).
3. Retighten the wing screw (17).
9.7 Setting the cutting angle (Fig. 7)
You can set the cutting angle with the cutting angle scale
(9).
1. Loosen the wing screw (8) for setting the cutting an-
gle.
2. Use the cutting angle scale (9) to set the required an-
gle.
3. Retighten the wing screw (8).
9.8 Switching the product on/off (Fig.
1)
ATTENTION
Before use, check the inserted tool to ensure all fasten-
ing parts are attached correctly.
Switching on
1. Press the switch-on interlock (4) on the handle (2) to
the right or left.
2. To switch on the product, push the on/off switch (3).
Note:
After the product has started, you can release the switch-
on interlock again.
Switching off
