d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected
from the battery; avoid contact. If contact acciden-
tally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts
eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected
from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
e) Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged
or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may ex-
hibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explo-
sion or risk of injury.
f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire or ex-
cessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature
above 130 °C may cause explosion.
g) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge
the battery pack or tool outside the temperature
range specified in the instructions. Charging im-
properly or at temperatures outside the specified
range may damage the battery and increase the risk
of fire.
6) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified re-
pair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power
tool is maintained.
b) Never service damaged battery packs. Service of
battery packs should only be performed by the manu-
facturer or authorized service providers.
Safety instructions for drills
1) Safety instructions for all work
a) Hold the power tool by the insulated gripping sur-
faces when performing work in which the tool or
screws may contact hidden electrical wiring. Con-
tact with a live wire may make exposed metal parts of
the power tool live and could give the operator an
electric shock.
2) Safety instructions when using a long drill
a) Never work at a speed that is higher than the max-
imum permissible speed for the drill. At higher
speeds, the drill can easily twist if it is able to turn
freely without contact with the workpiece, and cause
injuries.
b) Always start drilling at a lower speed and once
contact has been established between the drill
and the workpiece. At higher speeds, the drill can
easily twist if it is able to turn freely without contact
with the workpiece, and cause injuries
c) Never apply excessive pressure and only in the
longitudinal direction to the drill. Drills can twist
and this can cause the drill to break, or lead to a loss
of control and to injuries.
Residual risks
The product has been built according to state-of-the-
art and the recognised technical safety rules.
However, individual residual risks can arise during
operation.
Damage to hearing if the stipulated hearing protection
is not worn.
Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety Instruc-
tions" and the "Intended Use" together with the oper-
ating manual as a whole are observed.
Use the product in the way that is recommended in
this operating manual. This is how to ensure that your
product provides optimum performance.
Furthermore, despite all precautions having been met,
some non-obvious residual risks may still remain.
WARNING
This power tool generates an electromagnetic field
during operation. This field can impair active or passive
medical implants under certain circumstances. In order
to prevent the risk of serious or deadly injuries, we rec-
ommend that persons with medical implants consult
with their physician and the manufacturer of the medical
implant prior to operating the power tool.
WARNING
In case of extended working periods, the operating per-
sonnel may suffer circulatory disturbances in their
hands (vibration white finger) due to vibrations.
Raynaud's syndrome is a vascular disease that causes
the small blood vessels on the fingers and toes to
cramp in spasms. The affected areas are no longer
supplied with sufficient blood and therefore appear ex-
tremely pale. The frequent use of vibrating products can
cause nerve damage in people whose circulation is im-
paired (e.g. smokers, diabetics).
If you notice unusual adverse effects, stop working im-
mediately and seek medical advice.
ATTENTION
The product may only be operated with the original bat-
teries. Batteries may only be charged with the original
battery chargers. Observe the manufacturer's instruc-
tions.
WARNING
Follow the safety instructions and the notes
regarding charging and correct use, as speci-
fied in the operating manual for your battery
and battery charger. A detailed description of
the charging process and further information
are provided in this separate manual.
