8. Cleaning and maintenance
8.1 Cleaning
• Keep the automatic welding mask as free of dust and
dirt as possible. Wipe the appliance with a clean cloth
or use a slightly damp cloth and a little soft soap.
Do not use any cleaning products or solvents; they
could attack the plastic parts of the device.
• Make sure that no water or moisture gets into the
device.
• We recommend that you clean the device directly
after every use.
8.2 Changing the battery (Fig. 3)
You can replace batteries with a low charge via the
battery compartment. A low battery charge is indicat-
ed by the battery indicator 16 with a red warning light.
• Open battery compartment 15 by turning the cover
of battery compartment 15 anti-clockwise (Fig. 3).
• Once you have removed the cover of battery com-
partment 15, you can remove the battery.
• When inserting a new battery (CR2032), you must
observe the correct polarity. The positive pole mark-
ing “+” must point upwards.
8.3 Replacing the front panel (6) / rear panel (9)
8.3.1 Replacing the front panel (6) (Fig. 4)

8.5 Service information
With this product, it is necessary to note that the fol-
lowing parts are subject to natural or usage-related
wear, or that the following parts are
required as consumables.
Wearing parts*: Front panel, rear panel, battery
* may not be included in the scope of delivery!
6.6.3 Setting the sensitivity
With the sensitivity setting (12) it is possible to control
the light sensitivity of the sensor. Switching the lter
to darkening can be continuously adjusted between HI
(high = high sensitivity) and LO (low = low sensitivity)
using the “SENSITIVITY” control on the inside of the
helmet.
In the event of low light incidence, it is possible to set
the controller to the highest level so that automatic
darkening occurs even with a weak light source. Set
the sensitivity to the highest level before welding and
adjust accordingly during welding if necessary.
