Connections
The speaker systems offer various possibilities for balanced or unbalanced connection of professional audio
equipment. To avoid interfering noise, switch off the devices or set the output controls to minimum prior to
connecting and disconnecting equipment. Be sure to use only short, high-grade cables.
Model KX-181A
1) The inputs are designed for stereo signals. A mono signal for the subwoofer is internally created from the
two stereo channels of the signal source. Feed the audio input signals via XLR plugs or 6.3 mm plugs to
the jacks LINE 1 und 2. These jacks allow to connect the line level output, e. g. of a mixer or
preamplifier.
For stereo operation of two subwoofer systems, only connect one channel to each system. To drive a
full-scale signal to the amplifier block, the other channel should then be connected to the LINK output of
the input channel used (example: LINE 1 = input left channel connect LINK 1 to LINE 2).
2) At the balanced XLR outputs LINK 1 and LINK 2, the input signal fed through is available. These outputs
allow e.g. connecting another subwoofer system or top speakers when setting up a satellite system.
Model KX-P212A | KX-P215A
1) Feed the audio input signals via XLR plugs or 6.3 mm plugs to the CH 1 and CH 2 input jacks. These
inputs allow to connect audio units with line level (e.g. mixer or CD player). When connecting line level
devices, make sure that the level switch of CH 1 is set to LINE.
Alternatively, you can connect microphones to the input of CH 1. In this case, set the level switch to MIC.
2) The balanced XLR outputs provide the input signal fed through.
Mains connection
1) To provide the speaker system with power, connect the mains cable supplied to the POWER IN jack and
the mains plug to an outlet.
After connecting the P-Con plug to the jack, turn the plug clockwise until it engages. To remove the plug,
pull back the latch on the plug and turn the plug counter-clockwise.
2) Use the POWER OUT jack to connect an additional speaker system. Thus, a maximum of four speaker
systems of the KX series can be connected with each other.
Note: A P-Con plug must not be under load or voltage when it is connected or disconnected. Therefore,
disconnect the mains plug before making the P-Con connection.
