DSP SETTINGS ( FIG.3 )
CURRENT DSP STATUS (main page)
During normal operaon the display shows:
- the current preset;
- the CH1 and CH2 sensivity (LINE, MIC or MIC-20);
- the signal digital aenuaon in dB, which can be set rotang the DSP EDIT knob;
- the input signal level meter.
The level meter shows two warnings in case the input signal reaches very high levels:
LIMITER! - the speaker has reached the maximum power capability, so the input signal is limited by the DSP in order
to avoid distorons or speaker overloads.
IN CLIP! - the input signal is about to reach the maximum dynamics of the DSP AD converter, so it must be reduced in
order to avoid distorons of the converter.
SETUP (page 1/8)
This page is used to choose one of the available four SESSION6 operang modes, as described also in the manual QUICK
START secon (pages 3-6). The available modes are the following:
1 - STEREO: SESSION6 is set as a standard stereo system and connected to a device (usually a mixing console) with a
STEREO LINE output. LEFT and RIGHT inputs are set with LINE sensivity and sent to amplier's le and right channels.
2 - DUAL: SESSION6 is set as a mono system, with the TOPS installed onto two separate speaker stands. CH1 and CH2
inputs can be set with LINE or MIC sensivity (so they can accept instruments and/or microphones), summed together
and then sent to both amplier's le and right channels.
3 - MONO: SESSION6 is set as a mono system, with the TOPS linked together and forming a single 12-speakers column
(see page 12), usually installed on the pole over the subwoofer. CH1 and CH2 inputs can be set with LINE or MIC
sensivity (so they can accept instruments and/or microphones), summed together and then sent to both amplier's
le and right channels.
4 - DOUBLE: SESSION6 is set as a mono system, with the TOPS linked together and forming a single 12-speakers column
(see page 12), installed on the pole over the subwoofer. In this mode, the sub-woofer with the 12-speaker column is
used as the LEFT or RIGHT channel of a big stereo system. Only CH1 input is working and it is set with LINE sensivity.
IMPORTANT
When TOPS A&B are linked together in an 12-speaker column, always select MONO or DOUBLE mode in the DSP: if,
in this conguraon, you select STEREO or DUAL modes the system will not work properly.
When TOPS A&B are linked together in an 12-speaker column, always use the 4-wires SPEAKON cable to connect
them to the sub-woofer.
IN LEVEL (page 2/9)
This page is available only if DUAL or MONO modes are selected. Here you can select the CH1 and CH2 input sensivity,
choosing between LINE, MIC or MIC-20, each step increasing the gain by 20dB. Using LEVEL1 and LEVEL2 controls you
can also adjust the level of each input independently. In these modes the two inputs are summed together and the
signal is sent to both amplier's le and right channels (so to both TOP A and TOP B).
EQ (pages 2/8)
In this page you can adjust set the system's EQ. The TREBLE range is from -6 dB to +6 dB at 8 KHz, the BASS range is from
-6 dB to +6 dB at 90 Hz. Both controls feature a “SHELVING” curve.
PRESET (page 3/8)
In this page you can choose one of the available presets, with equalizaon and dynamic processing opmized to oer
the best performance in dierent system's applicaons:
1-MUSIC: to be used for recorded music playback. This is the default preset.
2-LIVE: to be used for reproducing at best vocals and instruments in live applicaons.
3-DJ: specically designed for recorded dance and electronic music playback.
4-SPEECH: to be used for spoken word applicaons, in parcular when a dynamic microphone is connected directly
to the system.
SUB (page 4/8)
This page is used to set the subwoofer level. When the subwoofer is placed at corners it could be necessary to reduce
its level to match beer with the level of the TOP speakers.
