14 Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING
Pull out the mains plug before carrying out
any setting, servicing or repair work!
14.1 General maintenance tasks
• Clean the product at regular intervals using a damp
cloth and a little soft soap. Do not use any cleaning
products or solvents; they could attack the plastic
parts of the product. Make sure that no water can
penetrate the product interior.
• Oil all moving parts once a month.
14.2 Re-tensioning and changing the
toothed belt (Fig. 20, 21)
Tool required:
• Hexagon socket spanner 6 mm (24)
• Hexagon socket spanner 5 mm*
• Phillips screwdriver*
* = not included in the scope of delivery!
1. Loosen the locking screw (9) and remove the sand-
ing table (8).
2. Remove the disc guard (18) and, if necessary, the
sanding sheet (5a) (see 10.5).
3. Loosen the fastening screw (5c) with a 5 mm Allen
key and remove the sanding disc (5) from the sand-
ing disc holder (5f).
4. Remove the rear wall (5d) by loosening the four fas-
tening screws (5e) using a Phillips screwdriver.
5. Use a Phillips screwdriver to slightly loosen the
clamping screw (25a) and remove the belt cover
(25).
6. Loosen the three fastening screws (26) with a Phil-
lips screwdriver.
7. If the belt (27) needs to be replaced, reduce the belt
tension by unscrewing the screw (28) slightly using
the hexagon socket spanner 6 mm (20).
8. Replace the old belt (27) if necessary.
9. Fit the new belt (27).
10. To tension the belt (27), tighten the screw (28) us-
ing the hexagon socket spanner 6 mm (20).
11. Tighten the fixing screws (26).
12. Now check the belt tension and re-tighten it if nec-
essary.
13. Insert the belt cover (25) and firmly tighten it.
14. The rest of the assembly is carried out in reverse
order.
Align the locating bush on the rear of the sanding
disc (5) with the flattened side of the sanding disc
holder (5f).
The sanding disc (5) must then not protrude beyond
the front edge of the rear wall (5d).
14.3 Cleaning
• Keep protective devices, air vents and the motor
housing as free of dust and dirt as possible. Rub the
product clean with a clean cloth* or blow it off with
compressed air* at low pressure. We recommend
that you clean the product directly after every use.

15 Storage
Store the product and its accessories in a dark, dry and
frost-free place that is inaccessible to children.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5°C and
30˚C.
Store the product in its original packaging.
Cover the product to protect it from dust or moisture.
Store the operating manual with the product.
16 Repair & ordering spare parts
After repairs or maintenance, make sure that all safety-
related parts are installed and are in perfect condition.
All parts which may cause injury must be kept where
they are inaccessible to children or others.
ATTENTION
According to the German Product Liability Act, no lia-
bility is accepted for damage caused by improper re-
pairs or by not using original spare parts.
Such work should be performed by a customer ser-
vice centre or an authorised specialists. The same
applies to accessory parts.
Connections and repairs
Connections and repair work on the electrical equip-
ment may only be carried out by electricians.
16.1 Ordering spare parts
