6 Modbus/RTU communication (RS-485 interface)
The RS-485 interface serves localized networking with the Modbus/RTU communication
protocol. If the module is connected to a network and the distance exceeds 500 m, it is rec-
ommended to install one termination resistor (RT=120Ω) each on the side of the RS-485
converter and on the side of the last module on the line. For longer distances, a lower com-
munication speed (bps), low attenuation cable or signal repeater is required.
