5.2.5.1 Bus coupler
A bus coupler is required to connect an Inline station to a bus. Bus couplers are available
for various bus systems (see Table 5-1).
The bus couplers are described in detail in a separate document.
Not all Inline terminals can be used with every bus coupler.
INTERBUS:
Every Inline I/O terminal can be operated downstream of an INTERBUS bus cou-
pler.
Other bus systems/networks:
The Project+ software is available as a configuration tool for Inline stations.
Use this software particularly when you configure stations at bus couplers that sup-
port a bus system or network other than INTERBUS.
You will be notified by the software if there are restrictions for I/O terminals.
5.2.5.2 Terminals with remote bus branch
A terminal with remote bus branch can be used downstream of the following bus cou-
plers:
– INTERBUS bus coupler IBS IL 24 BK ...
– PROFINET bus coupler IL PN BK-PAC
– Ethernet bus coupler IL ETH BK-PAC
