13 Device replacement, device defect and repair

13.1 Device replacement

Inline terminals can be replaced, if necessary.

Please note when replacing a device.

– In the SELV area:

NOTE: Disregarding this warning may result in malfunction

Do not replace devices while the power is connected.

Inline:

Before removing or mounting a terminal, disconnect power to the entire station.

Make sure the entire station is reassembled before switching the power back on.

– In the low voltage area (Inline):

WARNING: Dangerous contact voltage

Do not replace devices while the power is connected.

Before removing or mounting a terminal, disconnect power to the entire station.

Make sure the entire station is reassembled before switching the power back on.

If you want to replace an Inline terminal, proceed as follows:

• Observe the information in Section 11, “Mounting/removing devices”.

• If necessary, disconnect the wiring.

• Replace the Inline terminal in your application with a new Inline terminal.

• If necessary, connect the supply and the I/O devices.

See Section 12, “Connecting cables”.

The new terminal must meet the following requirements:

– Same device type

– Same or later version

13.2 Device defect and repair

Do not open the housing nly be carried out by Phoenix Contact. Do not open the housing. If the housing is opened,

the function of the device can no longer be ensured.
