5 Errors: Messages and removal

The diagnostic and troubleshooting mechanisms supported by the device are described

below.

Depending on the error type, errors that are diagnosed are displayed via the local diagnostic

indicators and/or transmitted to the safe PROFINET controller as diagnostic messages.

The tables below provide an overview of the diagnosed errors, their causes, effects, and

possible measures for error removal.

For every error that occurs, the cause of the error must first be removed.

Error removal To remove the cause of an error, please proceed as described in the “Remedy” column in

the tables below.

If in the event of failure the safe PROFINET gateway is replaced, please proceed as

described in “Replacing the FL PN/PN SDIO-2TX/2TX” on page 42 and “Restart after

replacing the FL PN/PN SDIO-2TX/2TX” on page 49.

5.1 Diagnostics for PROFINET

Diagnostic messages for PROFINET are displayed on the safe PROFINET gateway using

diagnostic LEDs.

Other diagnostic messages depend on the configuration of the PROFINET systems

connected to the safe PROFINET gateway.

5.2 Diagnostics for PROFIsafe

Diagnostic messages for PROFIsafe are displayed on the safe PROFINET gateway using

diagnostic LEDs.

PROFIsafe provides comprehensive diagnostic mechanisms that are defined in the

PROFIsafe specification. For information on the PROFIsafe specification, please refer to

“Documentation” on page 66.

Other diagnostic messages depend on the configuration of the PROFIsafe systems

connected to the safe PROFINET gateway.

If error codes are indicated by the system, which do not appear in the tables below, please

contact Phoenix Contact.
