2.4 Mapping process data to PROFINET IO

Following integration in an engineering tool, the safe PROFINET gateway uses the following

process data in both connected PROFINET systems:

safe inputs (7 bytes of which can be used) and 7 bytes of safe

outputs for coupling safe process data.

16 bytes of inputs/15 bytes of outputs; 12 bytes of which are

safe inputs (11 bytes of which can be used) and 11 bytes of

safe outputs for coupling safe process data.

Slot 3 is empty –

You have the option of changing the amount of process data for standard I/Os for slot 2.

As an option, you can parameterize an empty/unused slot for slot 2.

You have the option of changing the amount of process data for PROFIsafe messages for

slot 3.
