6 Startup

Perform a startup in the following cases:

– During first startup of the system

– After modifications or repairs

Required tools

To start up the system, you require the following:

– Voltage tester, e.g., DUSPOL

– Rotating field measuring device

– Several screwdrivers

6.1 Safety notes for startup

DANGER: Danger to life from missing protective conductor

A flawless grounding connection has to be established before connection to the

mains.

DANGER: Danger to life from electric shock

Severe or fatal injuries when touching cables and terminal blocks in the device.

DANGER: Potentially lethal voltage

When working on the system, observe the correct scope and condition of your per-

sonal protective equipment.

Please note:

• Do not mix up the polarity of mains inputs L and N.

• Before initial startup, check that grounding and mains installation are correct.

• Before startup, check the system for contamination.

• Avoid impurities in the supply air. If the large fans in the front of the DC power module

suck in impurities, these immediately get into the DC power module and might cause

short circuits. As a result, the DC power module fails completely.
