5.4 Mains and DC fuses and disconnect devices

WARNING: Risk of fire from wrong conductor cross-section

Specify the minimum cross section in accordance with EN 62040-1 and

EN 60950-1, Table 3b.

Select the conductor cross-section depending on the following factors:

– The fuse externally connected upstream of the cabinets

– The installation method in accordance with IEC 60364-5-52 and VDE 0100-520,

Observe the local and country-specific requirements.

Disconnect devices required

• Install a disconnect device (mains supply) upstream of the system.

• Install a disconnect device (battery) upstream of the system.

It must be possible to secure the disconnect devices against reconnection. The disconnect

devices have to be clearly marked.

Disconnecting the system

If the disconnect device is not built into the device: In case of permanently connected de-

vices, an easily accessible disconnect device has to be installed outside the device.

External disconnect devices are not included in the scope of supply. The operator has to

provide them.
