Safety instructions for hedge
trimmers with extended
reach
a) Reduce the risk of fatal electric
shock by never using the ex-
tended reach hedge trimmer
near electrical wires.Touching or
using near power lines can cause seri-
ous injury or fatal electric shock.
b) Always operate the extended
reach hedge trimmer with both
hands.Hold the extended reach
hedge trimmer with both hands to
avoid losing control.
c) Wear head protection when
working overhead with the ex-
tended reach hedge trimmer.Fall-
ing fragments can cause serious injuries.
Additional safety instructions
• If possible, connect the device only to
a socket with a residual current circuit
breaker (RCCB) with a tripping current
of not more than 30 mA.
• If replacement of the connecting cable
becomes necessary, this is to be carried
out by the manufacturer or its agent in
order to avoid safety risks.
• Carefully inspect the surface to be cut,
and remove all wires and other foreign
bodies.

- Use hearing protection
- Use hand protection
• Wear suitable work clothing, such as
solid shoes with non-slip soles as well
as long, robust trousers.
• Do not wear long clothing or jewel-
lery, as it can become jammed in the
moving parts.
• Never use the device barefooted or
wearing open sandals.
• The device is intended for trim-
ming hedges. Do not cut bran-
ches, hard wood or anything
else with the device. The device
could become damaged.
• Always wear appropriate pro-
tective equipment and work
gloves while working with the
device. Never hold or pick up
the device by the cutting blade.
Contact with the cutting blade can
lead to injuries.
• Do not use the device near am-
mable liquids or gases. In the
event of a short circuit there is a risk of
re and explosion.
• Always make sure that the device is
properly in one of the specied work-
ing positions before starting the de-
vice.
• Switch off the tool and unplug the
mains plug. Make sure that all moving
parts have come to a complete stop
- when leaving the device
- before removing obstructions or
loosening blockages
- before checking the device, clean-
ing it or performing maintenance
work on it
- before adjusting the working posi-
tion of the cutting unit
