Place the solder between the solder
joint and soldering tip to melt it.
Keep adding in solder
until the entire
solder joint is covered.
Then withdraw the soldering tip
im-
mediately to prevent overheating the
molten solder.
Allow the solder to harden and avoid any
knocks or vibrations.
NOTE
The ux is either included in the solder
or applied separately. When you buy
the solder, ask about its the kind of
applications it is suitable for and the
appropriate ux.
Maintenance and cleaning
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Always pull the plug out of the
power outlet and let the ap-
pliance cool down before you
carry out any work on the appli-
ance.
Always clean the appliance after com-
pletion of work.
To clean the housing, use a cloth and a
mild detergent if necessary.
Never use sharp objects, petrol, solvents
or cleaning agents that can damage
plastic.
Do not allow any liquids to get into the
interior of the appliance.
The air outlet of the hot air nozzle
must be kept clear. Good ventilation of
the working environment must also be
ensured.
Troubleshooting
The message "5-E" is displayed in the
digital display due to two possible
circumstances.
In the rst case, the soldering iron
or the
hot air blower
is not connected to the
appliance. The solution is to switch o the
appliance and make the connection (see
section "Assembling/disassembling the
soldering iron and hot air blower").
In the second case, the sensor module is
malfunctioning. Please contact Customer
Service via our Service Hotline.
Replacing the fuse
There is an F5AL250V fuse in the appli-
ance. If the appliance is not working, the
fuse may be defective.
Replace it with a spare fuse of the same
type (see also section "Technical data").
1) Press the ON/OFF switch
to the "O"
position.
2) Pull the plug out of the power outlet.
3) Turn the cap of the fuse
anticlock-
wise to remove it.
4) Remove the fuse (A).
5) Insert a new F5AL250V fuse.
6) Turn the cap back in clockwise.
NOTE
If the appliance still does not work or if
the new fuse blows again immediately,
the appliance is faulty. Do not try to
open the device housing and do main-
tenance work, such work must only
be done by qualied person in Service
Center. In this case, contact the
Service Hotline (see section "Service").
