information”.
Dust extraction
WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!
► There is a risk of fire when working with power
tools that are fitted with a dust collection box
or can be connected to a vacuum cleaner via
the dust extraction device! In unfavourable
conditions, e.g. when sparks are flying while
sanding metal or metal residues in wood,
wood dust in the dust sack (or in the vacuum
cleaner dust bag) can spontaneously ignite.
This is a particular risk if the wood dust is
mixed with paint residues or other chemicals
and the workpiece has become hot after
being worked for a long time. Therefore, do
not allow the workpiece and appliance to
overheat and always empty the dust collection
box or the dust bag in the vacuum cleaner
before taking a break from work.
Wear a dust mask!
NOTE
► Perforated sanding sheets are required for
dust extraction.
Dust box
Connection
♦ Slide the dust box 2 onto the appliance. In
doing so, match the ▸ symbol on the appliance
with the
symbol on the dust box2. Turn the
dust box 2 towards the
symbol to lock it.
(See the detailed illustration on the fold-out
page)
Removal
♦ Turn the dust box 2 towards the
symbol.
Then pull the dust box 2 off the appliance.
(See the detailed illustration on the fold-out
page).
NOTE
►
To ensure optimum dust extraction, empty the
dust box 2 regularly.
♦ To do this, remove the dust box 2 from the
appliance as described above. Clean the dust
box 2 thoroughly by knocking out the dust.
Reducer
Connection
♦ To remove dust using a vacuum cleaner, push
the suction hose of a suitable dust extractor
(e.g. a workshop vacuum cleaner) onto the
exhaust nozzle6.
NOTE
► If necessary, use the adapter7 by pushing it
into the exhaust nozzle6.
Removal
♦ Pull the hose of the dust extractor off the
exhaust nozzle6 or the adapter7.
Use
Switching on and off
NOTE
► Always switch on the random orbital sander
before making contact with the material, then
apply the appliance to the workpiece. During
operation, you can choose between instanta-
neous and continuous operation.
Switching on
♦ Slide the ON/OFF switch 1 forwards to switch
the appliance on.
Switching off
♦ Slide the ON/OFF switch1 backwards to
switch the appliance off.
Speed preselection
Use the speed control 5 to set a speed range
between 1 and 6.
♦ Level 1: low speed
Level 6: high speed
The required rotational speed depends on the
material being processed and can be determined
through practical tests.
