Inserting/removing the battery pack
Inserting the battery pack
♦ Set the rotation direction switch3 to the middle
position (lock). Snap the battery pack5 into
the handle.
Removing the battery pack
♦ Press the release button7 and remove the
battery pack5.
Use
NOTE
►
Push the rotation direction switch 3 into the
middle position before carrying out any
work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance,
tool-changing, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage of the power tool. Unintentional
activation of the On/Off switch 4 can result
in injury.
Selecting a tool
■ For hammer drilling, you will need an SDS-plus
attachment tool, such as the SDS drill bits r.
■ For standard drilling in wood, metal, ceramics
and plastic, you can use an appropriate
SDS-plus attachment tool, an attachment tool
with hexagonal shank or round shaft.
■ For screwing, use the screwdriver bits e that you
can attach using the quick-release chuck w.
Changing a tool
■ You can use the tool holder 0 to change tools
quickly and easily without the need for any
additional tools.
■ The SDS-plus tool moves freely (depending on
the system). This leads to a radial run-out devia-
tion while idling. This has no effect on the accu-
racy of the drill hole as the drill centres itself
during drilling.
■ The dust protection cap 9 largely prevents the
entry of drilling dust into the tool holder 0
during operation. Ensure that the dust protection
cap 9 does not get damaged when fitting
tools.
Fitting an SDS tool/quick-release
chuck

Do not use the quick-release chuck w
for hammer drilling or chiselling!
♦ Twist the tool into the tool holder 0 until it clicks
audibly into place.
♦ Check that the tool is properly locked by pulling
it. The system has radial play because of the
design.
Removing an SDS tool
♦ Pull the locking sleeve q backwards and re-
move the tool.
Operation
Function selector switch
♦ Press and hold the release button 2
for the
function selector switch 1. Turn the function
selector switch 1 so that the required symbol
engages at the arrow mark:

Hammer drilling
Chiselling

NOTE
►
Operate the function selector switch 1 only
when the appliance is at a standstill.
■ You can use the rotation direction switch 3 to
change the direction of rotation of the power
tool. This is not possible, however, while the
On/Off switch 4 is pressed in.
