along the length of the drill bit (no lateral
pressure).Drill bits can bend, resulting in them
breaking or leading to a loss of control and
injuries.

► When working on materials, harmful/toxic
dusts may be produced which may pose a
health hazard to the operator or persons in
the vicinity.
■ Wear safety goggles.
■ CAUTION, PIPES AND CABLES! DANGER!
Ensure that you are not likely to contact power,
gas or water supply lines when you are working
with the power tool. If necessary, check with a
service line detector before you start to cut or
drill into a surface.
Original accessories/attachments
■ Use only the accessories and attachments that
are specified in the operating instructions and
are compatible with the appliance.
WARNING!
► Do not use any accessories that are not rec-
ommended by PARKSIDE. This can lead to an
electric shock and fire.
Before use
Charging the battery pack
CAUTION!
► Always disconnect the mains plug before re-
moving the battery pack 5 from or inserting
it into the charger.
WARNING!
► Observe the safety instructions and the in-
structions on charging and correct use given
in the operating instructions for your
series battery and charger.
A detailed description of the charging pro-
cess and further information can be found in
these separate operating instructions.
NOTE
►
Ideally, charge the battery completely before
use. You can charge the lithium-ion battery at
any time without shortening its service life.
Interrupting the charging process does not
damage the battery.
► Never charge the battery pack if the ambient
temperature is below 10°C or above 40°C.
If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an
extended period, the charge level should be
checked regularly. The optimum charge level
is between 50% and 80%. The storage climate
should be cool and dry and the ambient tem-
perature should be between 0°C and 50°C.
► The recommended ambient temperature
range for using tools and batteries is between
–5°C and 50°C.
♦ If necessary, remove the battery from the appli-
ance.
♦ Insert the battery pack 5 into the charger z.
♦ Insert the mains plug into the mains socket.
♦ When charging is complete, disconnect the
charger z from the mains.
♦ Remove the battery pack 5 from the charger z.
♦ Switch off the charger for at least 15 minutes
between successive charging sessions. Also
disconnect the mains plug.
Checking the battery charge level
If the appliance is switched on, the status/remaining
charge will be shown on the battery LED 6 as
follows:
RED/ORANGE/GREEN = maximum charge
RED/ORANGE = medium charge
RED = low charge – charge the battery
