Using the appliance
■ Switch the appliance on before applying
it to the workpiece.
■ Apply minimal pressure when working.
■ Work at a constant speed.
■ Change the sanding sheets regularly.
■ Never use the same sanding sheet for
sanding dierent materials (e.g. wood
followed by metal). Optimum sanding
results can only be achieved by using
clean sanding sheets.
■ Clean the sanding sheet every once in a
while using a vacuum cleaner.
■ Sand hard-to-reach places with the front
or side edge of the sanding sheet on the
sanding plate.
■ Guide the sander over the workpiece
in parallel and use overlapping sanding
motions.
■ After completing the task, lift the appli-
ance from the workpiece and then
switch it o.
Sanding surfaces
♦ Turn on the power tool and ensure that
the whole sanding surface is in contact
with the material being worked. Move it
with moderate pressure over the work-
piece.
NOTE
► The removal rate and the sanding
pattern are mainly determined by the
choice of sanding sheet and the contact
pressure. Only awless sanding sheets
achieve good sanding results.
♦ Ensure that you apply even pressure.
Use of excessive pressure does not
lead to a greater sanding eciency, but
rather to increased wear of the sanding
sheet.
In the table below, you will nd some rec-
ommended values that will help you deter-
mine which sanding sheet3 to use for
which job.
