8.2. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FILTERS
HIGH EFFICIENCY REACTIVABLE CERAMIC ACTIVE CARBON FILTERS (FCCR AE)
(Optional depending on version, for hoods in Filtering mode)
MAINTENANCE PROCESS AND REACTIVATION:
REACTIVATION every 90 hours of use or 3 months (Average daily use 1h)
Warning, use gloves to handle the filter, it has components in powder
form that should not be ingested or come into contact with food, they
could be toxic.
Warning, in the regeneration process in the oven, be careful with the
components, which will be very hot, danger of burns, let it cool down
before reinstalling.
1 – Remove the frame containing the packet of ceramic cartridges of the diffusor, IMPORTANT: do not
remove the ceramic cartridges from the steel frame, as it keeps the structure together. It can be put into the
oven with this frame.
2 – Regenerate in the oven at 180ºC for 90 minutes.
3 – Wait for it to cool down and dry and then it will be regenerated and ready for use again.
IMPORTANT: Do not wash in a dishwasher, with soap etc.., it must not come into contact with any liquid,
as this would seriously damage the filter and could render it unusable.
The filter has a very long life, as it can be continually regenerated until the product loses it shape by wear
or no longer regenerates.
To regenerate the ceramic filter, it is necessary to dispel smells / molecules of active carbon back to the
atmosphere to recover its capacity of absorption. This process is called desorption.
Depending on the type of use and contaminants, there may be a reduction in the adsorption performance
after each regeneration cycle, like a memory effect, this normally happens after 8-10 cycles. The estimated
duration of the filters with performance over 50% is about 2-3 years, according to usage. It is advised to
replace them for new ones every 10 cycles of reactivated, 900 hours of use or 2.5 years (average daily use 1h).
Due to the release of smells / molecules, it is recommended to carry out the regeneration in a well-ventilated
room. The inlet and outlet of the filter must be unobstructed, to allow the elimination of the purged molecules.
Do not let any cleaning product, solvents, detergents, oxidants, liquids, other filters, etc. come into contact
with the ceramic filters.
Do not regenerate a filter if is it loaded with poisonous, dangerous, harmful for the environment or explosive
contaminants.
