2. RECOMMENDATIONS TO BEAR IN MIND BEFORE INSTALLATION.
H. For a soundproofed installation, we recommend using our special S.E.C. System tubing for fume
evacuation conduits. Ask your dealer.
• THE RIGHT SIZE AND DISTANCES:
a) HWIGHT OF THE HOOD: For hood installations over a gas cooker, the minimum height between
the cooktop and the bottom of the hood should be 65 cm according to regulations. The distance can
be greater, according to the type of cooktop, consult the manufacturer or the manual of the cooktop. A greater
distance than the recommended could cause less than optimum operation as fumes may leak from the sides.
Consult the installation manual, which will indicate the height of the hood over a gas cooker. A very small
distance could worsen the condensation effect, especially in the case of induction

b) WIDTH OF THE HOOD: The hood must always be wider than the cooking area (except in some special
models). If it is narrower, you run the risk of fumes escaping from the ends.
c) C CENTRING OF THE HOOD: The hood will be placed in such a manner that its filters are centred over
the cooking area.
