SAMPLE SYNTH
ON/OFF AND LEVEL
The Sample Synth section is turned on by pressing either LAYER button.
The LED equipped faders control the output level of each Sample Synth
Layer.
LAYER BUTTONS AND FX FOCUS
There are two Sample Synth Layers; A and B. Turning a second Layer
On is done by pressing both Layer buttons simultaneously. Turning a
Layer Off is done by holding its button down for a short period of time.
To toggle from one Layer to the other, press the non-active Layer button.
With both Layers active, the focused Layer is indicated by a blinking
LED above the Layer button.
Pressing a Layer button also focuses that Layer’s effects for editing,
indicated by the FX FOCUS LED in the effects section and the Layer LED
being lit with a red light.
KB ZONE
Press KB ZONE (Shift+Layer A/B), to assign the focused Sample Synth
Layer to any of the active keyboard zones. The green LEDs indicate
whether the Layer is assigned to the LO (lower), UP (upper) or both
keyboard zones. Read more about Split setups and keyboard zones on
page 18.
OCTAVE SHIFT
Use OCTAVE SHIFT 3/4 to transpose the selected Sample Synth Layer
up or down by octaves (+/- 12 semitones). When assigned to the entire
keyboard it can be transposed one octave up or down. When assigned
to a smaller zone the available transpose values will vary, but always
provide access to the entire range of the Sample Synth.
SUST PED AND VOL PED
SUST PED (Shift+Octave Shift Down) activates any attached sustain
pedal for the selected Sample Synth Layer. Read more on how to
configure attached pedals in the Menus chapter, on page 30.
VOL PED (Shift+Octave Shift Up) activates an attached control/volume
pedal as volume control for the selected Sample Synth Layer. The LED
fader can still be used to set the maximum volume level of the selected
Layer.
SELECTING A SAMPLE INSTRUMENT
The CATEGORY dial is used for navigating and selecting any of the
available categories, as hinted by the display.
When a category is selected, all sample instruments within that category
are available for selection with the SAMPLE dial. The position and name
of the selected sample instrument is shown in the display.
LIST VIEW
Pressing SHIFT while turning the CATEGORY or SAMPLE dial allows for
browsing sample instruments in a list view. Use the Category and
Sample Select dials for navigation, just like in non-list mode.
