20. Please take care of the tools. Keep the tools clean for better and safer performance. Follow the
instructions to change the accessories. Inspect the extension cords periodically and replace them if
they are damaged. Keep the handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
21. Switch off the machine and disconnect the cable before maintenance or changing the accessories.
22. Remove the adjusting keys and wrenches. Always make sure that the keys and adjusting wrenches are
removed from the tool before turning it on.
23. Avoid incidental activation. Never carry the device whilst having your ngers on the switch when the
device is connected to a power supply source. When connecting the power supply cord to the power
source, always make sure that the switch of the device is switched off; this is, in the “off” position.
24. When working outdoors, only use extension cables that are authorized for outdoor use. This reduces
the risk of electric shock.
25. Stay alert when operating the machine. Do not operate the tool when you are tired.
26. Use your tool at lower input load than specied on the nameplate to increase working efciency and
decrease wear out.
27. Do not wipe plastic parts with solvent. Solvents such as gasoline, thinner, benzene, alcohol, ammonia
and oil may damage and crack plastic parts. Do not wipe them with such solvents. Wipe plastic parts
with a soft cloth lightly dampened with soapy water.
28. Use only original replacement par.
29. Ensure that the power source which will be used conforms to the power requirements specied on
the product nameplate!
II. PRECAUTIONS ON USING THE DEVICE
1. Wear protective glasses to protect your eye.
2. The tool is strongly heated during the operation.
3. Keep your hands away from the heating parts of the device. The small metal parts should not be
removed with the hands.
4. Clean the device only when it has cooled down completely.
5. Any activities performed on the device (assembling, disassembling of accessories, maintenance,
cleaning) can only be carried out when the batteries have been removed and the knife blade has
cooled down.
6. Safe work depends on the posture.
7. When working at a highly elevated location, pay attention to objects and persons on a lower surface.
8. Clean the device regularly to avoid a persistent encrustation of dirt.
9. Do not place the device close to combustible materials.
10. Make sure to keep the cutting elements clean and sharp

IV. SCOPE OF APPLICATION
The hot knife is designed for cutting elements made of expanded polystyrene (EPS), extruded polystyrene
(XPS), polyethylene, polypropylene and a large number of other foam materials used for insulation of
construction objects.
Any damage resulting from a non-conform use of the device is to be paid by the user!

VI. BEFORE FIRST USE
Upon receipt of the goods, check the packaging for integrity and open it. If the packaging is damaged, please
contact your transport company and distributor within 3 days, and document the damages as detailed as
possible. Do not turn the package upside down! When transporting the package, please ensure that it is kept
horizontal and stable. Please keep all packaging materials (cardboard, plastic tapes and Styrofoam), so that in
case of a problem, the device can be sent back to the service centre in accurate condition!
VII. HOW TO USE
a. Before the rst use:
Make sure that the cutting tool is properly installed in the device.
b. Switching on / off
Switching on – press the switch (5)
Switching off – release the switch (5)
c. Installing the knife
Loosen the screws in the blade gripper (2) while using the provided key. Then slide the knife blade
(holding the longer blade edge downwards) into the gap and tighten the screws.
Attention! Before tting the blade, always disconnect the device from the power supply!
d. Removing the knife
To remove the knife from the device, loosen the screws using the provided key, then pull out the blade.
Attention! Disconnect the device from the power supply before removing the blade and make sure
that the blade has cooled down! There is a risk of burns!
e. Cutting with the device
Before cutting, set the temperature using the temperature adjustment knob (3). Check proper
functioning of the device prior to commencement of work. To do this, cut a discarded piece of material.
If fumes are generated during the operation it indicates that the pre-set temperature is too high or the
cutting speed is too low. Readjust the blade temperature and/or the cutting speed. The knife will heat
up to the pre-set temperature in a matter of seconds. To ensure the maximum service life of the knife
always use it within the given parameters and at proper temperature.
Always follow the guidelines on work cycles when working with the device, i.e. 12 seconds of
continuous operation and 48 seconds of pause per each minute.
ATTENTION! When cutting different types of plastic materials, always review manufacturer's
specications concerning the material’s softening, melting or degradation temperature!
