Quick start
This user guide tells you how to set up and configure your
amplifier using the front panel. Note that most people
connect the amplifier to a PC using Ethernet and set up
and control the amplifier using Vu-Net (page 36) at the
PC. In this case, you can use the front panel as a fall back
when you don't have a PC available.
The only important setting where you have to use the front
panel is IP mode (auto or static). You can't change this
using Vu-Net.
Auto and static IP
If you only have a few iKON amplifiers, it is probably
easiest and best to use auto IP.
If you have several iKON amplifiers, we recommend that
you use static IP. This will allow you to create offline
project files in Vu-Net (page 36) that target the static
IP address. It will also make troubleshooting much easier.

Connecting the amplifier and PC
If you have several iKON amplifiers that you wish to
control from a PC, you need to connect the PC and
amplifiers using an Ethernet network.
If you only have one iKON amplifier, you can connect to
a PC using an Ethernet network or alternatively using a
direct connection (with no need for a network). With the
direct connection you just run a network cable between
the Ethernet socket on the amplifier and the Ethernet
socket on the PC. With a small number of iKONs and no
network, you could connect and set up the amplifiers one
at a time using a direct connection.
