The AUX port allows you to send signals to the amplifier
to:
Recall snapshots (page 15). Note that the front panel
screen shows the snapshot number.
Mute and unmute all output channels. Note that all
front panel output mutes will flash and continue to
flash until you unmute.
Sleep (page 30) and wake up.
The AUX port consists of the leftmost three pins of
the six-pin Phoenix (Euroblock) connector on the back
panel (page 11). From left to right, pin 1 is X, pin 2 is Y
and pin 3 is ground (as labelled on the back panel). To
trigger inputs X and Y you can:
Connect the input to ground using a simple contact
closure device (a relay or switch) with no need for an
external voltage.
Or – Send a logic signal to the input. The logic low
must be less than +0.5V and the logic high must be
less than +24V.
Example
1. Set the style (page 32) to Mute Slp (the rightmost
column in the table above).
2. To mute all output channels, connect input X to
ground (connect pin 1 to pin 3).
3. To unmute, disconnect X and ground (disconnect pin
1 and pin 3),
4. To sleep the amplifier, connect input Y to ground
(connect pin 2 to pin 3).
5. To wake the amplifier, disconnect input Y and ground
(disconnect pin 2 and pin 3).
AUX styles
You can configure the AUX port to respond in various
styles, as summarised in the table above.
To select the style, use the
Aux style page of the Utility
menu (page 32).
The styles are:
None – Ignore all signals.
2+Mute (event or state) – To recall snapshot 1 or 2,
apply a momentary or static connection to input X or Y.
To mute the device, apply a static connection to both X
and Y.
3 Snaps (event or state) – To recall snapshot 1, 2 or
3, apply a momentary or static connection to inputs X
and/or Y.
4 Snaps (state) – To recall snapshot 1, 2, 3 or 4, apply
a static connection to inputs X and/or Y.
3+Mute (state) – To recall snapshot 1, 2 or 3, apply a
static connection to input X or Y. To mute the device,
apply a static connection to both X and Y.
2+Sleep (state) – To recall snapshot 1 or 2, apply a
static connection to input X or Y. Sleep the device by
applying a static connection to both X and Y.
Mute Slp (state) – Mute the device by applying a static
connection to input X. Sleep the device by applying a
static connection to AUX input Y.
Event or state
With the first two AUX styles (2+Mute and 3 snaps) you
can use events or states:
With events, the signal is a momentary push-button or
momentary relay contact closure.
