Solution: If your TrackPoint pointing device does not respond, try the following solutions one by one to
troubleshoot and fix the issue:
1. Ensure that there is no visible damage on the TrackPoint pointing device.
2. Ensure that the TrackPoint pointing device is enabled. Take the following steps:
a. Open the Start menu, and then click Settings Bluetooth & devices Mouse TrackPoint
settings.
b. Ensure that the toggle is set to On and Leave Trackpoint on when a mouse is connected is
selected.
3. Update the TrackPoint driver. Take the following steps:
a. Type device manager in Windows search box and then press Enter.
b. Click the arrow icon > next to Mice and other pointing devices to expand the section.
c. Right-click the TrackPoint pointing device that is malfunctioning, and then select Update Driver.
d. In the pop-up window, select Search automatically for drivers.
4. Uninstall the TrackPoint driver. Take the following steps:
a. Type device manager in Windows search box and then press Enter.
