Gas connection
When connecting the gas for the hob, it is crucial to ensure a safe and secure
installation. Follow these instructions to prevent potential damage to the hob
and ensure a reliable gas connection.
Positioning of pipework:
Ensure that the pipework is installed in a manner that eliminates the risk
of contact with any movable parts of the housing unit, such as drawers.
Additionally, make sure the pipework does not pass through spaces where it
could be crushed, kinked, or otherwise damaged.
Assembling parts:
To safeguard the hob, assemble the components in the following order:
• ½ Male Adapter "A"
• ½ Seal "B"
• ½ Female Gas Adapter "C" (either conical-cylindrical or cylindrical-
cylindrical)
Tightening joints:
Use a spanner to tighten the joints securely, ensuring proper alignment of the
pipes during the process.
Connection to gas supply:
Connect fitting to the mains gas supply using either a rigid copper pipe or a
flexible steel pipe.
Final check for leaks:
Before completing the installation, conduct a thorough check for potential
leaks in the pipe connections. Utilise a soapy solution for this purpose —
NEVER use an open flame for leak detection. Confirm that the pipework is
not in contact with any moving parts of the cabinet, such as drawers, and is
positioned where it is shielded from potential damage.
Important Warning:
If you detect the smell of gas around the appliance, take immediate action:
• Turn off the gas supply to the appliance.
• Do not attempt to locate the leak with an open flame or any other ignition
source.
• The rating plate on the hob shows the type of gas it
is designed to be used with.
• Connection to the mains gas supply or gas cylinder
should only be carried out after having checked
that it is regulated for the type of gas with which it is
supplied.
• For liquid gas (cylinder gas), use pressure regulators
which comply with the relevant national standards.
• Use only pipes, washers and sealing washers which
comply with relevant national standards.
UK only: By law the gas installation must be carried out by a "GAS Safe" installer.
All work must be carried out with the electricity supply disconnected.
