Safety distance to cooker hood:
A minimum safety distance must be
maintained between the pan supports
on the gas hob and the cooker hood
installed above it. The specific safety
distance may vary based on the
manufacturer’s instructions provided
with the cooker hood. Always refer
to the cooker hood manufacturer’s
operating and installation instructions
for the exact safety distance required.
You should observe the greatest
safety distance between both sets
of instructions.
Safety distance without cooker hood
manufacturer’s instructions, ‘A’:
In cases where the manufacturer’s
instructions for the cooker hood are
not available, or if there are any
flammable objects installed above
the gas hob (such as utensil rails or
wall units), a minimum safety distance
of at least 750mm must be maintained
between the pan supports and the
objects above it.
Multiple appliances below
cooker hood:
If you have multiple appliances installed
below the same cooker hood, and
these appliances have different safety
distance requirements, you should
observe the greatest safety distance.
Safety distances to the sides and
back of the hob:
The hob should be installed with plenty
of space on all sides. The specific
distances are clearly outlined and
should always be adhered to.
Safety distance below hob:
The panel installed below the hob must be easy to
remove to allow easy access in case a technical
intervention is necessary.
If the appliance is installed with an oven, drawer or
separator panel underneath, please leave at least
15mm of ventilation, unless otherwise stated in your
oven installation guidelines.
