HEATING
Heating is a basic function in buildings and an important factor in
order to ensure a comfortable indoor climate at all times. The aim
is to make the best possible use of the heat energy used, as this
saves money. The most common heating systems today are radia-
tors (radiators) and underfloor heating (surface heating).
Heating with radiators
Radiators are usually supplied
with warm water via a main heat-
ing system (boiler). A thermostat
head mounted on the radiator di-
rectly controls the room tempera-
ture using a valve which limits the
Commissioning
The tadsystem and eNet SMART
HOME are connected in the eNet
SMART HOME app. The prerequi-
site for this is that both the tado°
system and the eNet system must
be commissioned. Everything is
simple after this point. The tad
partner system is added in the eNet
SMART HOME app, and the tad
zones are integrated in the eNet
building structure. In a final step it
is possible to specify a termination
condition which determines when
the system is to switch from “man-
ual or frost protection” mode
back to automatic operation.
Functionality
It is possible to set the tempera-
ture for the heating system right
at the device at any time using the
tado° thermostats. In addition, the
system can be operated and con-
figured via the tado° app (availa-
ble for Android, iOS and Microsoft
Windows). After connection of
tado° with eNet, the eNet SMART
HOME app also offers many func-
tions which can be used to control
the heating system and can be in-
tegrated in further eNet functions.
This is possible for the building
as a whole, for individual areas
(e.g. ground oor) or for individual
rooms.
Underfloor heating
The most common form of un-
deroor heating is heating rooms
by pipes laid in the floor, which
are heated with water or electric-
ity. The regulation of underoor
heating is either room by room via
wall thermostats or via a central
thermostat for the entire house.
A smart heating control can be
done either by replacing conven-
tional wall thermostats or by con-
trolling the central heating system
itself if it is not a multi-household
installation.
flow. Replacing a thermostat with
an electronic variant is simple and
requires no direct changes to the
heating system’s water circuit or
electrical installation. A smart ra-
diator thermostat runs on batteries
and uses integrated temperature
sensors to control the room tem-
perature according to schedules or
even the presence of the people in
the room.
Heating with eNet SMART HOME
In order to control a heating sys-
tem with eNet SMART HOME, an
eNet server and an installed tado°
Professional smart heating system
control are required. The tado°
system can intelligently control a
heating system directly via the boil-
er, via wall-mounted thermostats
for underfloor heating systems
or via radiator thermostats. The
tado° Professional heating system
control is 95 % compatible with all
heating systems. Visit www.tado.
com for more information on the
compatibility of specific heating
systems with the tad system and
to nd out which tado° components
are needed.
