3. CODE EXAMPLE
3.1 Installing the required libraries
Firstly, you must activate the serial interface on your Raspberry Pi. To
open the configuration, enter the following command:
sudo raspi-config
You will be asked the question
Would you like a login shell to be acces-
sible over serial ?
Answer this with
No
.
Next you will be asked
Would you like the serial port hardware to be
enabled ?
Answer this with
Yes
.
You will then be asked whether you want to restart your Raspberry Pi.
You should answer this with
Yes
.
This guide was written under Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm for the
Raspberry Pi 4 and 5. It has not been checked with newer opera-
ting systems or hardware.
