Variable Zigzag
Machine settings
(1) Stitch pattern: U8
(2) Presser foot: Satin stitch foot F
(3) Thread tension: 3-7
(4) Foot pressure: 4-6
(5) Connect the foot control
(6) Turn the variable zigzag key on

Pressing on the foot control can vary stitch width.
The harder you press the foot control, the wider the stitch
width becomes.
You can adjust the amount of needle swing with the foot
control for variable zigzag
(refer to page 171).

Press the variable zigzag key again.
A message will appear as shown.
Press the OK key to return to the ordinary sewing.

NOTE:
For variable zigzag sewing, be sure to connect the
foot control to the machine. Otherwise you cannot sew
variable zigzag stitches.

Connect the foot control to the machine (refer to
page 11).
Select the pattern U8 and press the variable zigzag
key.

A message will appear on the visual touch screen.
Press the OK key.

Press the Start/stop button to start the machine.

Sew at slow to medium speed while guiding the fabric
with your hands and controlling the stitch width with
the foot control.
NOTE:
In variable zigzag mode, the sewing machine will not
start even if you press the foot control.
NOTE:
Attach a stabilizer to the wrong side of the fabric if
necessary.
