Button Sewing
Machine settings
(1) Stitch pattern: U8
(2) Presser foot: Satin stitch foot F
(3) Thread tension: 3-7
(4) Foot pressure: 4-6
(5) Feed dogs: Down position

Lower the feed dogs (refer to page 22).
Set the speed control slider at a slower speed.
Match the holes of button to the horizontal slot on the
presser foot.
Lower the foot to hold the button in place.

Adjust the stitch width so the needle will enter the left
hole of the button.

(3) Drop feed key

Turn the handwheel so that the needle will enter the
right hole of the button. Readjust the stitch width if
necessary.
Stitch several times.

NOTE:
The “A” foot is displayed on the visual touch screen
when straight stitch pattern 8 (Utility) is selected.
However, use satin stitch foot F when sewing button.
NOTE:
Do not use the thread cutter button to cut the threads.
Otherwise, you cannot tie the threads.

After you nish sewing, cut the threads but leave
7.5 cm - 10 cm (3˝ - 4˝) of threads at the end.
Pull the bobbin threads to bring the needle threads
down to the wrong side of the fabric.
Tie the threads together.
After the button sewing is completed, raise the feed
dogs for normal sewing (refer to page 22).
