Replacing the Needle Plate
Use the straight stitch needle plate when embroidering.

A warning message will appear that the needle plate
is not secured.
Place the needle plate on the machine.
Set the left edge of the needle plate into the opening.

Press the needle up/down button to raise the needle.
Press the lockout key to lockout the machine.
Raise the presser foot lifter.

Hook your ngers in the hollow on the left side of
the extension table. Push up the cover toward you to
open it.

Insert the screwdriver into the needle plate release
hole under the needle plate.
Pull up the screwdriver as shown and remove the
needle plate to the right.

A message will appear when the needle plate is
attached. Be sure the proper foot is attached to the
machine.
Turn the handwheel slowly and make sure that the
needle does not hit the needle plate. Press the X key.
Press the lockout key to unlock the machine.

CAUTION:
• Always make sure to press the lockout key to lockout
the machine before replacing the needle plate.
• Never remove the needle plate while running the
machine.
NOTE:
When the straight stitch needle plate is attached to
the machine, the patterns not suitable for the straight
stitch needle plate is grayed out and cannot be
selected.
