Dropping the Feed Dogs
The feed dogs can be lowered for sewing on buttons,
free motion quilting, etc.
Press the drop feed key to lower the feed dogs. The feed
dogs position is displayed as the drop feed key.

Press the drop feed key again after sewing with lowering
the feed dogs.
Turn the handwheel toward you to make sure the feed
dogs are raised.
(3) Handwheel
NOTE:
• If you start the machine with the feed dogs lowered,
a message will appear on the visual touch screen.
• Retract the carriage arm before raising/lowering the
feed dogs.
• The setting by drop feed key takes precedence over
feed dogs setting in ordinary sewing settings (refer
to page 172).
