6.5 Shaft torques
The break-away torque is the maximum torque that is required, depending on the temperature,
in order to set the shaft in motion.
After break-away, the starting torque must be applied to set the shaft in motion. The difference
between break-away torque and starting torque may be due to ice formation at low
temperatures, for example.
